For more than 30 years, HCS has been redefining what businesses have come to expect from their IT partner, delivering cybersecurity, intelligent automation, and future-proof technology solutions that help them to fuel growth and innovation.

Under ambitious new ownership, HCS worked closely with TOTEM to create a brand proposition that would help them elevate their business and become a tier one operator supporting enterprise-level organisations.

Simplify

Having rebranded HCS five years previously with a strong visual identity that still feels  fresh and future-focused, TOTEM set about repositioning the brand so that the company could compete with confidence at the highest level. 

We conducted a series of in-depth workshops with the senior team and key stakeholders to understand the challenges target customers experience, connecting these with the HCS service proof points that provide the solutions they desire.

In the course of our collaborative conversations, we identified the idea of HCS being the navigator leading organisations across the ever-changing terrain of the digital frontier as being central to the new brand positioning.

Thought this maybe says more than 'resonates', but you can change it to that. This was said in the para immediately above in the last version. So I've reworded that para, albeit leaving the mention of tier one up there.

Create

Remaining wholly Irish-owned and independent gives HCS a distinct edge. With many of their competitors employing remote teams, predominantly supporting their clients virtually, there was a real, tangible advantage in the fact that HCS expertise is on the ground right here in Ireland – Expertise with the same world-class capabilities and internationally approved certifications.

What became central to our messaging is that HCS operates to global standards with local savvy, that their autonomy gives them the ability to make faster decisions, to keep large organisations ahead of digital change with secure, AI-driven solutions that optimise their IT ecosystems and protect their critical data. HCS would now be about more than providing support. The brand would be all about Empowering Progress.

Empower

While the brand positioning was being developed, the TOTEM design team was working in tandem to reimagine the HCS website, creating a focused, more confident vehicle to express the revitalised brand and captivate potential new customers.

The content strategy for the website is built on the service pillars of Advise, Secure, Support and Transform, with sharp, customer-centric messaging assuring enterprise-level audiences that they will be in expert, knowledgeable and capable hands with HCS. The aesthetic carries through the new brand confidence with elegant design, intuitive navigation, and a scalable hierarchy that will expand in sync with the growth of the company.

In “Empowering Progress”, we think we’ve created a tagline that captures the essence of the HCS proposition, enabling businesses to succeed through specialist knowledge and expertise. It’s an expression that strikes a chord with us, because it’s what TOTEM strives for with the clients we work with too.
